Manipur: Police recover stolen vehicle in two hours

The said stolen vehicle was recovered around 9.30 pm from a house of one Md Yunus Ali Shah, 63, son of late Md Alif of Lilong Usoipokpi.

A team of Imphal Police Station recovered a stolen vehicle within a duration of two hours from Lilong Ushoipokpi, Imphal on Friday.

As per sources, Imphal Police Station received a complaint that a two wheeler motorcycle (Royal Enfield Continental GT650) bearing registration number MN01AL-3259 was stolen from Keishampat Takhellambam Leikai on Friday at around 7 pm.

Swiftly responding to the complaint lodged by the owner of the vehicle, Kangabam Ashok, 18, of Sagolband Kangabam Leikai, a team of Imphal Police Station conducted a house-to-house operation at Lilong Usoipokpi area on the same day.

The team was led by sub-inspector H Bidyasagar, sub-inspector L John, assistant sub-inspector Tolen and Rakesh under the guidance of officer-in-charge of the police station, inspector K Abhijit assisted by a team of Lilong police station.

During swift action of the Manipur police, the said stolen vehicle was recovered around 9.30 pm from a house of one Md Yunus Ali Shah, 63, son of late Md Alif of Lilong Usoipokpi. However, the owner of the house fled from the scene.

Measures are underway to book the culprits.
