According to source, following a meeting conveyed at the Public Ground of Churachandpur attended by around 3,000 individuals, a group of around 150 individuals had started dismantling the structures and houses at Khumujamba Meitei Leikai using excavators.

During the dismantling process, one individual, identified as Ngamkhansuan, died after the structure fell on top of him accidentally, according to sources.

The dismantled houses are those abandoned by those who fled to valley districts following the outbreak of the communal crisis in Manipur.
