The Manipur government has warned of legal actions against those making deliberate efforts to violate the integrity of the government institutions and establishments.

Chief secretary, government of Manipur, Vineet Joshi, in a notice on Sunday, said those violating the order will be booked and prosecuted under relevant provisions of law of land for the time being in force.

It noted the recent public notice issued by the Indigenous Tribal Leaders Forum (ITLF) Churachandpur dated February 17 stating that all state government offices will be closed from Monday until further notice.

The notice, which had been going viral in social media platforms, also directed employees not to attend office along with a general threat to all concerned and they would be responsible for consequences if not followed, it stated.

It maintained that the state government views the matter seriously with utmost sensitivity as the same act is illegal and the notice so issued is without any authority.

It pointed out that a large number of relief camps are operating in the districts where many children, old aged persons, pregnant and lactating mothers, especially abled persons are residing and their regular care is being taken. Disbursement of third assistance for purchase of clothing and personal belongings at Rs 1000 per person is scheduled to start for the residents of relief camps, it mentioned.

It asserted that examinations of CBSE board have started and state boards are due from February 27 for which preparations are in full swing.

‘No one shall or attempt to make any deliberate effort to follow or enforce the said notice at any cost’, the order stated. In case of any violation of the order, the person (s) concerned without any exception will be booked and prosecuted under relevant provision of law, it asserted.

It further said that ‘No work, No pay’ will also be enforced by all the state government officials/institutions against those employees who do not attend their official duty without unauthorised leave.

It also advised all central and state government authorities and manage authorities of institutions/establishments/autonomous bodies to ensure strict attendance of staff and students as usual. It further directed all district magistrate and Superintendents of all districts to take up necessary actions to enforce the orders and readily address the genuine grievances of any citizen of their respective district.
