Manipur: Miscreants killed person with disabilities

JAC formed, miscreants related to the case to be cast out from Langthabal Lep and Mantri Khong areas.

A person with disabilities was reportedly killed by some miscreants at his residence in Langthabal Lep Mayai Leikai under the jurisdiction of Singjamei police station in Imphal West district, Manipur on Wednesday.

The deceased is identified as Nongthongbam Ingocha (55), son of (L) Mani.

According to the family members of the deceased, Ingocha has been staying alone and he used to come out every day at the nearby locality to have conversations with the local residents at around 4 pm.

One of the local residents went in to check on him at his house as he failed to come out at his usual timing and found him lying with several injuries inside, added the family members. He was later taken to Raj Medicity but the hospital declared him brought dead.

Police picked up Pukhrambam Robert (50), son of (L) Manaoton and Koijam Rishikanta (50), son of (L) Imo from the same locality for investigation as the two and some other people were seen entering the house of Ingocha earlier that day.

Singjamei Police Station has registered a case and a post mortem was conducted on the body on Thursday but family members have not taken the body yet.

A JAC has been formed regarding the death who said that the miscreants related to the case will be cast out from Langthabal Lep and Mantri Khong areas.
