A man suffering from mental illness was shot on the leg by miscreants near Vishal Institute of Law College, Changangei under Lamphel Police Station, Imphal West around 1.50 am on Monday.

The injured person is one Akham Ringo, 44, son of (L) Lalmani of Kwakeithel Akham Leikai.
As per reports, he was shot on his right leg by the unknown miscreants who came on a four wheeler after Ringo threw pebbles on their vehicle. He was found injured by people who came on early morning walks and informed the police.

A team of Lamphel Police station took the body to RIMS casualty around 7 am. Reports said that Ringo had lost both his parents and he is homeless.
