A man stabbed his wife to death in an argument at Khagempalli Pankha Nganappi Thong Mamang, under Singjamei Police Station in Imphal West, Manipur around 10 am on Monday.

The deceased wife has been identified as Heikrujam ongbi Pishakmacha, 56, As per sources, the couple had a quarrel in the morning.
Her husband Bijoy, who works as an ‘arangpham’ (ceremonial organiser) and a ‘maiba’, stabbed her on the side of her abdomen with a knife. She was rushed to Asian Hospital at Kwakeithel but succumbed to her injuries. Following the incident, Singjamei Police arrested Bijoy.

Pishakmacha is survived by two sons and three daughters. Her body has been deposited to RIMS mortuary.
