Manipur: Man found dead, wife missing

The body was found strangled with a woman chuni and the door of the rented room was found open when the landlord saw the body.

A man, staying at a rented house in Namdailong under the jurisdiction of Lamphel Police station, was found mysteriously strangled to death on Tuesday morning even as his wife was missing.

The deceased is identified as Ritishkumar Magar, 39, son if (L) Nandalal from Kanglatombi.

As per sources, the deceased was staying with his wife Solemphi, 36, of Sopou village, Ukhrul and they have three children together.

The couple had been staying in the rented house for many years and they quarrel very often, said family members.

Family members added that they also heard them quarreling on Monday night at around 8 pm and Ritishkumar’s lifeless body was found in the room by the landlord on Tuesday morning around 9.30 am.

Reports said that the body had nail scratch marks on his hand, face and chest. The wife is still missing till the filing of this report.

The body has been kept at RIMS mortuary after the police took up a case regarding the incident.
