A 27-year-old man was found dead near the footpath in front of DM College campus under Imphal police station in Imphal around 7.30 am on Tuesday.

The deceased has been identified as one Samurailatpam Jaydeva Sharma, 27, son of late S Sachindra from Khwai Brahmapur Nagamapal. According to sources, Jaydeva left his home around 4.30 am. It informed that it had been a month since he had been staying home after he was discharged from the Rehab Centre for drug abuse.

It stated that the Imphal police had registered a UD case regarding the incident. After a post mortem was conducted at RIMS the bereaved family received the body, it added.
