Manipur: Man dies of electrocution

The deceased accidentally touched an electric pole while moving aside to avoid getting splashed by a vehicle and got electrocuted.

A man died of electrocution in Imphal West on Wednesday after coming into contact with an electric pole amid reports of flooding across various locations in Manipur.

The deceased has been identified as one Laishram Sanatomba, 75, of Sagolband Nepra Menjor Mamang Leikai in Imphal West. He used to teach mathematics at Popular High School, Sagolband Moirang Leirak.  

Around 2.50 pm, he came out of his house and went to buy some items from a shop at Nepra Menjor Mamang Leikai.

A car approached when he was walking on the flooded road, and he accidentally touched an electric pole while moving aside to avoid getting splashed by the vehicle.

He got electrocuted and admitted to RIMS. Unfortunately, he succumbed around 3.30 pm.
