Manipur lad receives Asia Book of Records award

An eight-year-old Ben Havi Gangte was awarded Asia Book of Records for singing 78 gospel songs, 6 hours and 20 seconds non-stop.

An eight-year-old boy from Gangte Veng, Churachandpur, Ben Havi Gangte who had been awarded Asia Book of Records for singing 78 gospel songs, 6 hours and 20 seconds non-stop, was facilitated on Friday at a thanksgiving programme at Gangte veng, Churachandpur.

 On the occasion, reverend H Kaisanglun prayed for the well being of the award winning child prodigy. The occasion coincided with the birthday of the boy who is from the Gangte tribe. Church leaders offer a birthday cake.

Ben Havi Gangte, son of Gouchungnung Gangte of Gangte Veng was born on December 29, 2014. He played gospel songs with musical instruments offered by his father. He eventually received his award through his singing of gospel songs continuously in six languages, namely English, Gangte, Kuki, Paite, Hindi and Mizo.
