The local womenfolk of Khousabung area in Churachandpur district on Friday went on a rampage, dismantling the duty posts of CRPF that was allegedly shifted more than 500 metres from the buffer zone on their side, which the locals believe will ultimately be used to attack their villages which is a stone’s throw away from the Post.
At the new post of CRPF, the women’s group argued that the post was made with the participation of the state forces and that it was not acceptable to them. The CRPF officer and other officers from the AR told them that they were there for their safety but failed to convince them.
In regard to this development, L Gincha, chief of L Phainom which is also the nearest to the new CRPF’s post said that the post was set up with Manipur police and Meitei civilians, and the villagers take it as a threat.
