Manipur Governor La Ganesan on Thursday extended his greetings to the people of the state, especially to the Sikh brethren on the sacred occasion of Guru Nanak Devji's birth anniversary.
In his message, the governor stated that Guru's universal vision and humanism have been an inspiration to people everywhere. “Let us all unite to bring happiness in the lives of the suffering and strive for the betterment of humanity. I appeal to one and all to endeavour to follow the Guru's profound teachings and work to strengthen the bonds of togetherness,” he stated. The inspiring teachings of the venerable Guru Nanak guide us always in creating a prosperous and harmonious society, he mentioned. “I join the people of Manipur in celebrating the Birth Anniversary of Guru Nanak Devji for a peaceful and prosperous Manipur,” he added.
Employment Minister Th Satyabrata Singh greeted everyone in Manipur especially the Sikh community on the auspicious occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti.
The day marks the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev, the founder of the religion of Sikhism, he stated in his message.
“Let us follow Guru's divine teachings and work to eradicate miseries from our society. Let us work together for a peaceful and prosperous Manipur. I hope the Sikh community in Manipur celebrate this festival with a spirit of unity,” he added.
