Manipur Governor La Ganesan, CM Biren, ministers extend Republic Day 2023 greetings

It was on this day in 1950, that we gave ourselves a constitution which is the guiding principle of our country... On this occasion we should revere and offer our homage to those founding fathers for their foresight and understanding, the governor wrote in his message.

Manipur Governor La Ganesan, Chief Minister N Biren Singh and ministers of Manipur extended their greetings to the people of the state on the occasion of 74th Republic Day celebration.

Governor La Ganesan in his message said, “It was on this day in 1950, that we gave ourselves a constitution which is the guiding principle of our country. Despite reservations from various quarters, the experiment of democracy in India has been successful and we are going from strength to strength, respected by other nations. On this occasion we should revere and offer our homage to those founding fathers for their foresight and understanding”.

“On this auspicious occasion, let us re-dedicate ourselves to uphold and promote the secular, socialist and democratic values enshrined in our constitution and work collectively to make our country great”, he added.

CM Biren also joined the people of the state in celebrating the 74th Republic Day of the Great Nation. In his message, he said “we celebrate January 26 every year commemorating the enactment of our constitution which came into full force on January 26, 1950 and made our country a sovereign, socialist, secular, and democratic republic. On this historic occasion, let us remember and pay homage to our visionary leaders in the constituent assembly who has gifted us our constitution. On this day, let us not only rejoice in their glory but also reaffirm our commitment and to strive to make our nation greater and stronger”.

He also appealed to the people to take a pledge to protect our nation from evil in all forms and to rededicate ourselves to work in unison to make Manipur a land of peace and prosperity.

Education Minister Th Basantakumar Singh in his message said, “let us celebrate Republic Day by thanking all those who sacrificed their lives to give us independence from colonialism and worked hard to give us one of the best written constitutions in the world”.

Textiles, Commerce and Industry & Co-operation Minister Nemcha Kipgen said in her message, “as we celebrate the golden moments of India’s 74th Republic Day, let us all salute the sacrifices made by freedom fighters and soldiers who made us realise the dream of an independent and unified India”.

Water Resources and Relief Relief and Disaster Management Minister Awangbow Newmai in his message said that, “let us strive to promote peace, harmony and fraternity among all and to build a nation that is united and strong”.
