Manipur Governor Anusuiya Uikey on Monday took part in the launching of ‘Universal Culture’ jointly organised by the Art and Culture Wing, Rajyoga Education and Research Foundation (RERF) and Brahma Kumaris at Raj Bhavan Banquet Hall.
Famous Ras Lila, Pung Cholom, Dhol Cholom and Khamba Thoibi dances were performed as part of the event which was held on the theme ‘Love, Peace and Harmony’, stated a release.
Speaking at the event, Anusuiya Uikey hailed the relentless efforts made by the Brahma Kumaris to launch the Universal Culture amid such a critical juncture in the state, with the sole aim to restore peace and normalcy, it said. She added that the theme is apt considering the ongoing crisis as it will instil the message of oneness and peace amongst the people, it stated.
She also lauded the activities of Brahma Kumaris through their meditation programs and for being a torchbearer of peace, it mentioned. Uikey further urged them to reach out to the internally displaced persons in the relief camps and conduct meditation classes as mental peace is the need of the hour, it stated.
Director, Value Education Wing, RERF, professor Pandiamani; chairperson, Art and Culture Wing Brahma Kumaris, BK Chandrika; chairman, Film Forum, Manipur Laimayum Surjakanta Sharma, and in-charge Brahma Kumaris, Manipur, BK Nilima were among those present at the event, it added.
