Manipur government sets up Control Room in view of Cyclone Remal

Control room to be led by principal secretary, Government of Manipur, Arun Kumar Sinha and other officials

The Manipur government has set up a 24x7 Control Room at the 1st Battalion Manipur Rifles Banquet Hall in view of the prevailing flood crisis in the state due to incessant rains caused by Cyclone Remal.

The development came in a view to improve coordination in rescue, relief and rehabilitation efforts and swiftly address the requirements of those affected, stated a latest order issued by chief secretary, Vineet Joshi on Thursday.

The statement also said that the control room will be led by principal secretary, Government of Manipur, Arun Kumar Sinha and other officials including IGP Manipur, K Kabib; Education Director, L Nandakumar; representatives of Relief and Disaster Management Department; deputy commissioners (IW and IE), security forces, PHED, water resources. Health and FE, CAF and PD, PWD, Power Department.
