Manipur government launches ‘100 action points for first 100 days’ programme

CM Biren said the Manipur government will be inaugurating the long awaited new Manipur Civil Secretariat building which is constructed at Mantripukhri in Imphal.

As the ‘100 tasks in 100 days’ programme was approved during the first sitting of the new government’s cabinet, Chief Minister N Biren on Saturday launched the ‘100 action points for first 100 days’ of the state government at the chief minister’s secretariat in Imphal West.

As a first and immediate step to provide momentum to the new BJP-led government to serve the people effectively, the 100-day programme was launched, said Biren while speaking to the media.  

Biren said that the state government aims to strengthen the citizen-centric governance, fill the gaps of critical infrastructures, strive for inclusive development of the entire state and frame policies for rapid economic growth and promotion of revenue generation to carry forward the development of the state.

As a part of the programme the state government will be inaugurating the long awaited new Manipur Civil Secretariat building which is constructed at Mantripukhri in Imphal, he said.

He further said that the programme also includes making sub-divisional offices functional at their respective jurisdictions; organising of health camp in each blocks during the 100 days; introducing of e-office  and e-budget; raising the insurance coverage under CMHT to Rs 5 lakh; inauguration of solar power system for government health facilities in Tamenglong, Chandel and Churachandpur for uninterrupted power supply.

The inauguration of 16 model Anganwadi centres; inauguration of private ward (18 rooms) in JNIMS; distribution of benefits to 16,000 beneficiaries under Manipur Old Age Pension Scheme and 10,000 beneficiaries under Chief Minister’s Widow Pension Scheme; distribution of 4,750 tablets to government school students among others are included in the programme, he added.

The chief minister also informed that the demarcation works for the construction of ring road is in progress and DPR for elevating the highways of Manipur are also in process.

Without public support, the effort of the government will not be successful, he further said, appealing to the public to give full cooperation to the public in taking up various developmental activities.

The function was also attended by newly induced ministers Th Biswajit, Y Khemchand, Govindas Konthoujam, Nemcha Kipgen, chief secretary Rajesh Kumar and other top officials of the state government.
