In view of the receding number of COVID-19 positive cases in the state, the Manipur government has now permitted reopening of all educational institutions for all classes, including residential schools, hostels, boarding schools, coaching institutes and institutions under different ministries with effect from March 10.
The permission was given considering the improvement in Covid-19 situation in recent weeks and the increasing rate of vaccination among teachers, staffs and students of the state and in continuation of the state government order dated November 9, 2021, stated an office memorandum issued by the commissioner (Education-S/Hr.&Tech.Edn) M Harekrishna.
Reopening of all educational institutions will be subject to observance of Standard Operating procedure (SoP) and guidelines issued by the Health Department for safety of students, teachers and all stakeholders, the memorandum stated.
Teachers, students and guardians should adhere to Covid Appropriate Behaviour and all government instructions and relevant SOPs, as issued by the government from time to time, it mentioned.
All educational institutions should also display prominently the number of vaccinated and non-vaccinated teachers and staff.
The office memorandum is issued in consultation with the Home and Health Department and with approval of competent authority, it said.
