Manipur Ex MLA Welfare Association on Tuesday observed a two-minute silence in connection with the demise of former MLA and minister RK Theko and extended condolences to the bereaved family.
A release issued by the association stated that RK Theko served as a works minister from 1974 to 1979 and a cabinet minister for Horticulture and Soil Conservation in the 8th Manipur Legislative Assembly. It recalled that Theko started his career as a teacher, mentioning that he campaigned for social justice and worked tirelessly for the unity of the hills and the valley.
He was the chairman of the Manipur Public Service Commission, 1995-1999 and a member of the Kangla Government Board, Manipur, 2003-2007, it added.
