Manipur Election: Final photo electoral roll 2022 published; 66,432 new voters added

The final photo electoral rolls of the entire 60 Assembly Constituencies in Manipur has been published and till the time of publishing of the last photo electoral roll, a total of 20,34,966 voters were enrolled with a net addition of 66,432 new voters.

Chief Electoral Officer, Manipur, Rajesh Agarwal told media at the office of CEO, Lamphel on Wednesday that till the publishing of the final photo electoral roll, 1.43 lakh forms for new enrolment were submitted out of which about 12,000 forms were rejected and 1.31 lakh forms were accepted.

Agarwal said that as per schedule fixed by the Election Commission of India the final photo electoral roll was published by the concerned Electoral Registration Officers (EROs). The general public or electors and representatives of political parties may inspect the final photo electoral roll at the office of Eros and with the Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and they may visit Chief Electoral Officer, Manipur’s website to inspect the final photo electoral rolls, 2022, he said.

The CEO said 1 (one) printed copy of the final electoral rolls of each assembly constituency and another copy in DVD-ROM will be made available free of cost to the recognised National and State political parties. The recognised state/national parties may depute one representative of their party, duly authorised to the CEO’s office for this purpose, he said. Any additional copy can be purchase at Rs 2 per page and Rs 1 per half page. Interested parties may also purchase DVD-ROMs from CEO’s office, Lamphelpat at Rs 100 pe4r DVD-ROM per assembly constituency, he added.

Agarwal further said the total male voters are 9,85,119 whereas 10,49,639 are female and 208 are third gender voters. In the coming election female voters have more 64,520 voters as compared with male voters.

Rajesh said till the publication of the final electoral roll about 60,000 voters are youths from the age of 18-19 years. For person with disabilities a total of 14,564 voters were enrolled and they can get the facility for postal ballot. In the next 5-10 days, the polls could be announced, he said.
