In light of the upcoming occasion of Eid-ul-fitr, one of the most sacred festivals for followers of the Islamic faith, food and drinks were being distributed as gifts in various areas.
At Heirok, MLA of the assembly constituency Th Radheshyam rendered aid on his part as Eid-ul-fitr gifts to each and every family at Shikhong Khunou Maning 33/9, Shikhong Khunou 33/8, Mayai Keithel 33/2 and Malom Jaliyanbi 33/3.
The above mentioned areas in the assembly constituency are mostly inhabited by Muslims. “May the festival spread love among all of us and bring communal harmony and peace,” stated Th Radheshyam in his Eid-ul-Fitr wishes.
Meanwhile, social worker and aspiring candidate for MLA of Wabagai assembly constituency Shakir Ahmed has been relentlessly distributing essential food items as a form of aid at every locality in the constituency from the past few days keeping an eye on the curfew and the festival of Eid-ul-Fitr which falls on Friday.
He also visited and distributed food items to each and every household at Wabagai Leirak Achouba and Keirak Mayai Leikai on Thursday.
Shakir Ahmed also made a public appeal to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr by performing prayers at home instead of social gatherings keeping in mind the seriousness of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“May the arrival of the Eid festival bring peace, love and unity amongst us all,” he said, wishing people on the upcoming festival.
