The 5th Assam Rifles and Tengnoupal district police arrested two individuals and recovered drugs from a house belonging to the individuals at Homeguard Veng under Moreh Police Station, Tengnoupal district around 1.15 pm on Friday.
The two individuals are identified as Rafique Kutti, 49, son of Abdul Jalil and his wife Zeenat, 52 of Homeguard Veng, Moreh, Tengnoupal District.
The recovered items on checking the house are 29.799 kg of WIY Tablets, 0.386 kg of Heroin Powder, 5.266 kg of caffeine, 2.471 kg of crystal, 8.299 kg of gold dust, 7970 Alprazolam Tablets and 10 different types of rubber stamps.
A crowd of about 200 (mostly women) gathered while effecting arrest but were later dispersed with the help of the RAF.
The arrested individuals and recovered items were handed over to Moreh Police Station for further necessary legal action.
