Manipur: Displaced voters told to submit ID forms

IDPs staying outside relief camps in their friends/relatives within the jurisdiction of Imphal West district and intending to vote at the special polling stations set up to enable all eligible voters staying in the relief camps and outside to cast their votes to submit the forms before April 9.

Office of the District Election Officer, Imphal West District, has notified the internally displaced persons (IDPs) intending to vote in the ensuing LS polls to submit their duly filled in ID forms by April 9.

The latest notification issued by District election officer, Imphal West, Th Kirankumar, on Monday informed the IDPs staying outside relief camps in their friends/relatives within the jurisdiction of Imphal West district and intending to vote at the special polling stations set up to enable all eligible voters staying in the relief camps and outside to cast their votes to submit the forms before the said date.

It mentioned that special polling stations for 1-Inner Manipur PC are set up at security building (near main gate), Manipur Trade and Expo Centre Complex, Lamboikhongnangkhong; Khuyathong community hall-1, Khuyathong and Room no. 10 ground floor of office of the sub-divisional officer, Wangoi.

While polling stations for 2-Outer Manipur PC are being set up at Recent Higher secondary school, Sagoltongba; relief camp anganwadi centre, Manipur trade and Expo centre complex, Lamboikhongnangkhong; Khuyathong Community hall-2, Khuyathong; Laphupat tera high school (Aided), Laphupat Tera and Kamakhya Pemton College, Western Block, Hiyangthang, it stated.

For electors of inner Manipur PC, the duly filled in ID forms may be submitted to the Assistant returning Officer, 1-inner PC (for persons residing in relief camps) at Room no. F-3, Ground Floor, DC office, Imphal West, it mentioned.

On the other hand, electors of outer Manipur PC can submit forms to the Assistant returning Officer, 2-outer PC (for persons residing in relief camps) at Room no B-14, First Floor, DC office, Imphal West, it added.

It further said that ID forms are available in the District website ‘https://imphalwest.nic.in’, in Room no G-15 DC office, Imphal West and Room No. B-14, DC Office, Imphal West or can be downloaded from ‘https://bit.ly/3lz8SZj.

Forms available for postal ballot

Form 12 for those applying for Postal Ballots and form 12A for those applying for Election Duty Certificate are available for voters on election duty in Jiribam district at the facilitation centre located at DC office, Jiribam from Monday onwards.  

A notice signed by district election officer, Jiribam Krishna Kumar on Saturday stated that for the voters on election duty in Jiribam district who are enrolled in Inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency, the aforementioned Form 12 should be submitted at the facilitation center located at the DC office, Jiribam from 11 am to 4 pm of April 6 and 7.

It further stated that for the voters on election duty who are enrolled in Jiribam Assembly Segment of Outer Manipur (ST) Parliamentary Constituency, the aforementioned Form 12 and Form 12A should be submitted at the facilitation center located at the DC office, Jiribam by 3 pm of April 18.

The applicants should also submit a copy of appointment letter as proof of having been drafted for election duty and a photocopy of EPIC along with the signed applications of Form 12 and Form 12A, it added.
