Manipur Crisis: CPI-MSC sets up State Level Task Force

The CPI-MSC has constituted a task force with CPI assistant secretary Nongthombam Singhajit as the convenor.

The Communist Party of India, Manipur State Council (CPI-MSC) on Friday announced that a State Level Task Force was constituted to work for the restoration of peace in the state and to support the victims of the ongoing crisis.

A release by CPI-MSC stated that CPI-MSC had constituted the task force with CPI assistant secretary Nongthombam Singhajit as the convenor. The task force will be monitored by CPI state secretary Leishangthem Thoiren and member of central control committee M Nara, it added.

It maintained that the task force under the supervision of the government visited the rehabilitation and relief centres opened by club voluntary organisations. The task force also met with the organiser of the relief centres and the refugees which include victims from the riot at Torbung Bangla Village in Churachandpur district and shared their sorrows and grievances, it continued.

“The refugees questioned if they will be able to returned to their homes and live normally. They also condemned the union and state government of being silent when the heavily armed militants are running around assaulting the masses,” it added.
