North American Bangladesh Manipuri Society, Inc on Sunday condemned the prevailing crisis in Manipur and urged the government to take immediate action to bring normalcy and prevent further exacerbation of the situation.
A release issued by the society extended condolences to each one who has lost their loved one irrespective of caste, creed, gender, rank or religion.
“We are at a lost as to how to end the insanity of this moment of such a colossal waste of human life with brother turning against brother, sister against sister, neighbour against neighbour which is tearing communities apart that have been living together from time immemorial,” it read.
It appealed to social media users, news outlets and publishers to report reasonably to avoid further escalation of tensions in the region and beyond.
It also urged the stakeholders to refrain from violence, stating that peaceful negotiation could bring normalcy.
