The CPI-MSC, in a release, alleged that Biren only followed the Centre’s advice to sit back and watch while the state had been burning for almost three months and hence, he was not replaced. It accused the chief minister of being a mute spectator to the numerous brutal killings and the attempted mass burial of 35 slain Kukis.

It also reflected on the statement made by the union home minister, alleging that his statement clearly indicated the government’s failure in resolving the prevailing issue in Manipur. Meanwhile, the MCPI MSC welcomes Shah’s statement that the conflict erupted in Manipur with the influx of Kuki refugees from neighbouring Myanmar after the military regime due to no proper fencing, it said.

The CPI MSC, during an extended state council meeting at Irabot Bhawan on Thursday, also reiterated its stand and commitment towards working to restore peace and normalcy in the state.
