Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh greeted all the workers of the state on the occasion of Labour Day, popularly known as May Day.
In his greetings, CM said that Labour Day is observed to pay respect to all workers and labourers. He asserted that it was on this day that the working class came together and stood up for their rights, raising their voices for paid leaves, good wages, and proper breaks.
He highlighted the significance of the day stating that it symbolizes the victory of the working class for their struggle to get an 8-hour working day.
‘On this Labour Day, I urge the public to recognize and appreciate all workers’ for their hard work and contributions to the development of our society. Let us honour and celebrate their hard work and dedication in every field’, the CM said.
