Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Monday extended his heartiest greetings to the people of the state, especially Muslim brethren on the occasion of the holy month of Ramzan (Ramadan).
The chief minister, in his greetings, said that Ramzan is a sombre period of spiritual reflection, daylight fasting and increased charitable behaviour for Muslims. The sacred month brings about community togetherness and kindles the passion of giving, he said.
He asserted that for believers of Islam, fasting and praying to Allah during Ramzan purifies one’s mind, body, heart and soul. He called upon all to imbibe Prophet Mohammed’s teachings of promoting peace and enduring happiness of humanity.
He further wished that the holy month of Ramzan take the state and the people closer to peace and normalcy.
