A suspected hand grenade exploded at the garbage pit at Angtha Mamang Leikai under Andro police station, Imphal East on Saturday and a bomb was found near Yumnam Oil Pump at Wabagai Lamkhai.

Sources said that the blast took place around 5.20 pm; however, there were no human casualties and no major damages due to the blast.

Meanwhile, a suspected Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was found near Yumnam Oil Pump at Wabagai Lamkhai on March 9, stated sources. Around 37 Assam Rifles ROP team informed the police about the suspected IED and a Manipur police bomb squad arrived around 3.40 pm and disposed of the IED at a separate location, it added.
