Manipur BJP general secretary and in-charge of Sewa Pakhwada P Premananda Meitei on Friday announced that Bharatiya Janata Party Manipur Pradesh will be observing ‘Sewa Pakhwada’ with various activities from September 17 to October 2, in connection with the birth anniversary of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He told the media on Friday at its state head office that the state BJP has formed a committee of five members.
A district level team of three-member committee has also been formed in 12 different districts of Manipur and another three-member committee was formed for 60 assembly constituencies which will be working under the respective district committees.
On September 8, a meeting with State’s office bearers, MLAs/MPs were conducted in connection with Sewa Pakhwada at JN Dance Academy, Imphal.
Premananda said that during the observation, the state BJP members will be doing various activities that could benefit the public instead of celebrating with unnecessary expenditures.
He said cleanliness drive, voluntary blood donation, health check up camps, Modi 2.0 state level seminar, distribution of artificial limbs and equipments to person with disabilities, cleanliness drive at community ponds with the aim to preserve water, buying of khadi clothes and others will be done during the period, he said.
He said that the members of state BJP will be buying locally made Khadi clothes on Gandhi Jayanti and Lal Bahadur Jayanti.
