Bishnupur district police recovered arms and ammunition during a search operation in the adjoining areas between Phougakchao Ikhai Mamang Leikai and Kolbung village near Khuga River bank on Saturday.
A combined team of SP Bishnupur, Additional SP/BPR(OPS), DSP(OPS), BPR, OC/PGCI-PS, one team of PGCI-PS, OC/CDO BPR 16th Kumaon Regiment and CRPF G169 conducted the operation.
The recovered items are one SMG Carbine bearing registration No. N215505939 along with Magazine and 7 live rounds, Country made 9 mm marked as 253/2013/BO ‘A’ KM without Magazine and 10 nos of 36 Hand Grenade Bombs without detonator.
Kakching District police also conducted a cordon and search operation at Wabagai Buffalo Farm to Thambal Chingya area under Kakching police station from 6.10 am till 7 am on Saturday. Forty-five houses were searched, 37 people verified but no arrest nor seizure were made.
Meanwhile, Thoubal District police conducted a cordon and search operation at Thoubal Wangkhem village under Yairipok Police station from 4.30 am to 6.30 am. Sixty-five individuals were verified but no arrest nor seizure were made.
