Manipur: 80-year-old woman murdered, earrings snatched

The deceased is identified as one Keisam Radhe, wife of late Keisam Chaoba of Pechi Awang Leikai under Yairipok Police station.

Miscreants allegedly killed an 80-year-old woman by slitting her throat after her gold earrings had been snatched on Monday.

The deceased is identified as one Keisam Radhe, wife of late Keisam Chaoba of Pechi Awang Leikai under Yairipok Police station. As per the family members, Radhe had left from her son’s residence in Yairipok Bamon Leikai on Monday afternoon.

Family members added that she came back to her home in Pechi where her elder son was living. They said that her eldest daughter-in-law found the door of the house opened on returning from the farm. She found the lifeless body of her mother-in-law in the kitchen when she went inside the house, as per the family members.

Reports added that there were slit marks on the neck and gold earrings were also missing from the body of the deceased. The body has been taken to JNIMS for a postmortem after Yairipok police along with forensic experts investigated the body and a case has also been taken up.
