Treasurer of Bharatiya Janata Party, Heingang Mandal, N Dilip donated 100 beds to a relief camp opened at Heingang Kontha Makha Leikai on Sunday.

Due to the present unrest since May 3, thousands of people have been displaced and have been staying at several relief camps opened at various districts. For over seven months now, internally displaced people (IDP) are staying at various relief camps, including in some pre-fabricated houses constructed by the government.

With the coming of monsoon season and winter season, IDPs have started facing the issues on sleeping on the floor on top of mattress without bed. Many IDPs have complaint that due to the moistures erupting from the grounds many of them are suffering however they are provided a temporary shelter.

After considering the issues faced by the IDPs, Dilip donated the 100 beds to the relief camps so that it could provide a little comfort during their stay at the relief camps.

Speaking on the occasion, Dilip said he encountered the issues on social media about IDPs sleeping on the floor with just a mattress and no bed. So, he decided to provide some necessary assistance to the IDPs by donating beds so that the issues could be solved, he added.

He further said the government is also doing its level best to bring a permanent solution of the present unrest. In the meantime he will provide necessary assistance to the IDPs as much as he can, he said.

One of the IDPs staying in the relief camp who was displaced from Sapermeina told the media that she is very happy on donating beds. By sleeping on the bed the IDPs could be prevented from getting ill, she said.
