Man shot at by suspected Kuki militants

Unknown miscreants, suspected to be Kuki militants, opened fire at Twikun village along Kangchup to Singda road on Saturday.

A man sustained a bullet injury when unknown miscreants, suspected to be Kuki militants, opened fire at Twikun village along Kangchup to Singda road, between Imphal West and Kangpokpi district, around 5.45 pm on Sunday.

According to the police, the injured has been identified as one Nungleppam Bobbit, 46, from Kadangband Part I.

Police said the incident took place when Bobbit, along with a group of people, attempted to stop two individuals who were coming from Singda towards Kangchup. The two individuals fled, but after a while, they returned with a group of armed people who opened fire at Bobbit’s groups in which Bobbit sustained a bullet injury, it added.
