According to police reports, Sanjit, a substance abuser, had previously undergone treatment at a de-addiction centre.

During police preliminary interrogation, the accused disclosed that on May 14 at around 6:00 PM he had consumed heroin No. 4 and had an illusion of having sex with his mother. So, he waited for his mother to return home and when she did, he locked the main door and insisted on having sex with his mother. Refusing the approach, the mother tried to run, threatening to expose his son.
