The body of a man suspected to have died of a drug overdose was found inside a toilet located at Kakching bazaar under Kakching Police Station in Kakching district on Saturday, sources said.
Police said the deceased was identified as one Huidrom Romio, 31, son of H Devan from Mayang Imphal Konchak, presently residing at Hiyanglam-Wabagai Lamkhai in Kakching district.
According to Kakching police, they received information around 9.10 am that a person who was using the toilet had not come out for a long time and was not answering when the caretaker of the toilet repeatedly called him from outside.
Later, he was found dead inside the toilet when a police team arrived and knocked down the door, the police said, adding that a syringe was found near the body. The body has been collected by Kakching Police.
