A man riding a two-wheeler vehicle died after being run over by a tipper truck at Mayai Lambi Yumnam Huidrom Makha Leikai in Imphal West around 12.30 pm Sunday.

The deceased has been identified as Yumnam Ajit, 25, son of Y Ibungo from Yumnam Huidrom Makha Leikai, Imphal West.
He was run over by the truck (Tata Tipper- M01AA/1951) from behind when he started driving his scooter (Activa 5G) from where it was parked.

He was rushed to Advance Hospital but succumbed to his injuries on the way. Wangoi Police Station has registered a case in connection with the incident. The body was deposited at RIMS Mortuary for conducting a postmortem.
