Man convicted for raping two minors

The Session Judge, Imphal West had framed charges against the accused under section 376 IPC in 2015.

The Additional Sessions Judge (Fast Track Court) for Crime Against Women, Manipur convicted a man for raping two minors in 2008.

According to the court’s prosecution story, the mother of two minors lodged a complaint on May 16, 2008 at Lamshang police station, stating that between month of March and April and May of 2008, the accused Maimom Abo, 23, son of (L) Kalamu Singh of Sanjenbam Makha Leikai raped her two daughters.

The case was registered at Lamshang Police Station under section 376 IPC for rape. The trial of the case started at Session Judge, Imphal West and was transferred at the Fast Track Court in 2018.

The Session Judge, Imphal West had framed charges against the accused under section 376 IPC in 2015. On Monday, the Fast Track Court announced the conviction of the accused, Maimom Abo under section 376 IPC.
