A man in possession of suspected Heroin No. 4 was arrested by a team of Narcotic cell Imphal West under the command of OC Narcotic cell Imphal West and overall supervision of SP Imphal West S Ibomcha Singh at Sagolband Area near NRL oil pump at about 9:20 am on Thursday.     

As per police sources, the accused Laishram Surjit Singh, 35, son of L Shamu Singh of Kwakeithel Heinou Khongnembi, Imphal West came driving a two wheeler (Honda Dio, red in colour) without registration number from Wahengbam leikai side towards Tera bazar.

He was detained and while searching in presence of a civil witness, the team was able to detect 33 vials concealed inside a pink pouch bag suspected to contain Heroin No. 4 from the tool box.

The person was arrested on the spot and the items along with the vehicle were seized by observing formalities in presence of a civil witness. The arrested person along with the seized articles has been handed over to Imphal Police Station for necessary legal action.
