Manipur Youth League (MAYOL) on Sunday launched a poster cum mass awareness campaign at Khwairamband Ima Keithel, Imphal under their campaign for national regeneration.
The campaign is part of MAYOL’s ‘Langthabal Declaration’ which they took on January 9, 2024 at Manipur University.
The poster cum mass awareness campaign will mainly focus on awakening political consciousness among the masses to steer the state towards peace and prosperity.
Speaking on the occasion, MAYOL convenor Asem Prince stated that the campaign had been initiated to exhort the masses in making conscious political decisions.
“In order to usher in a new era in Manipur we must identify the core issues and problems plaguing the state. We must root out divisive politics if we desire unity,” he said.
He stated that creating an efficient government by rekindling political interests among people would be the lasting solution to resolve such problems.
“All of this can only be achieved through the exhortation of free and fair elections,” he added.
He called upon the people not to fall prey to petty corrupt politics and instead reclaim the role of politically conscious and responsible citizens.
MAYOL volunteers conducted the poster campaign around Ima Keithel. Some of the posters read, “Eikhoi Leipaak Oina Paansi, Khunai Oina Lingsi Hairabadi, Politics Ki Maruoiba Khangsi. Politics Ta Pukning Changsi.”, “Meereptagi Sel Nibagi Chatnabi Thadoklasi. Sel Louraga Vote Pibagi Araanba Lichat Semdoklasi. Vote Ki Chakcha Heijanaba Phattaba Chatnabi Muthatlasi.” among others.
