The Manipur Pradesh Mahila Congress Committee (MPMCC) on Wednesday expressed strong condemnation against the alleged atrocity carried out by RAF personnel inside the Cheirap Court complex on Tuesday.
The MPMCC demanded legal action against the RAF personnel who were involved in the alleged atrocity against women protestors inside the court’s complex.
The role played by the central forces to save the civilians and curb the ongoing violence in Manipur has become a big question among the public, a release issued by president of MPMCC Mutum Sarma Devi stated.
It stated, it is unfortunate that the RAF personnel who were not deployed in Cheirap Court campus came inside the campus of the court and manhandled the women who were democratically protesting for release of six civilians in connection with the arm loot case.
“Such act is considered as an insult to the judiciary and the whole people of Manipur,” the release mentioned.
Questioning the authorisation for the use of excessive forces inside the court’s complex, it asked the government to stop using such excessive forces to the public in the name of curbing the ongoing violence.
