Spokesperson and PRO, Manipur, Nagaland, and Southern Arunachal Pradesh, Ministry of Defence (MoD), lieutenant colonel Amit Shukla called on Manipur Governor Anusuiya Uikey at Raj Bhavan, Imphal on Monday.
He briefed the Governor on measures taken up by the Ministry of Defence especially Army and Assam Rifles to restore peace and normalcy in Manipur, stated a release.
During the meeting, Uikey highlighted that there was a communication gap between the Army and the public in the initial days of the ethnic strife, it said. She also urged that relentless activities of the Army should reach the general public, it stated.
The PRO assured her that all the propagandas and false news will be countered with facts timely, it noted. Further the Governor also appreciated the roles of the Army and Assam Rifles in restoring peace and normalcy in Manipur, it added.
