LS Polls in Manipur: Second round of randomisation completed in Imphal West

Second randomisation of EVMs and VVPATs in respect of 1,319 Polling Stations of the 32 Assembly segments falling within 1-Inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency will be held on Friday .

The 2nd round of randomisation of polling personnel to be deployed in the ensuing 18th Lok Sabha General Elections in respect of the 13 Assembly segments of Imphal West district was carried out on Thursday at NIC Room, at the District Election Office, Imphal West.

The randomisation process was chaired by district election officer, Imphal West Th Kirankumar and monitored by general observer of the 1-Inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency Dhavalkumar K Patel. Additional district electoral officers, assistant returning officers, nodal officers and other key officials were also present in the second round of randomisation process.

Meanwhile, the second randomisation of EVMs and VVPATs in respect of 1,319 Polling Stations of the 32 Assembly segments falling within 1-Inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency will be held on Friday at Kombirei Hall, DC Office Complex, Lamphelpat.

2nd batch PO training held for Kamjong district

The 2nd batch training of Polling Officers of Kamjong District was held on Thursday at the Kamjong Election Hall (NIELIT Hall) located inside the Mini Secretariat, Ukhrul.

The Polling Officers will be on election duty at 78 polling stations of 43-Phungyar (ST) AC, the lone Assembly Constituency within Kamjong District, which goes on poll in the 2nd phase of  the upcoming Lok Sabha polls scheduled on 26th of this month. The 1st batch of PO training was held on Wednesday at the same venue where 38 Polling Officers took part in the training.

During the training, SDO, Phungyar Rang David Kung, MCS, instructed the Polling Officers about the functioning of different parts of the EVM machine such as ballot unit, control unit and VVPAT. While cautioning for the possible issues arising out of improper handling of the EVM machines, the SDO exhorted the POs to  properly operate the EVMs as per ECI guidelines. The SDO also informed the POs about the duties of Polling Officers on poll day as prescribed by the Election Commission of India.

DEO/DC Kamjong, Rangnamei Rang Peter, IAS, while interacting with the Polling Officers, stated that election-process is based on a well-planned strategy and hence there is no room for delay and distraction. So everyone on election duty must perform their duty diligently leaving aside their personal interest, the DEO added.

In the training, a Hands on Training on EVM was also conducted for the Polling Officers. A total of 30 POs took part in the training.
