Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Special polling stations for IDPs identified

Special Polling Stations have been identified to enable all eligible voters staying in the relief camps to exercise their right to vote in the 18th Lok Sabha Election, 2024.

The Manipur government on Thursday notified that Special Polling Stations have been identified to enable all eligible voters staying in the relief camps to exercise their right to vote in the 18th Lok Sabha Election, 2024 for both I-Inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency and II-Outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituency under Bishnupur district.

The Special Polling Stations are identified to enable the eligible electors not staying in relief camps but otherwise staying with relatives/friends within the jurisdiction of Bishnupur District to exercise their right to vote, stated a notice signed by district election officer, Bishnupur district Lourembam Bikram.

All the eligible specified voters who are either staying in relief camps or otherwise (staying with relatives/friends) within the jurisdiction of Bishnupur District can exercise their adult franchise by submitting duly filled in ID form (enclosed as Annexure-C) to the concerned AROS of PC concerned, it stated. Further, electors opting to vote at the specified Polling Stations may indicate the nearest Special Polling Station in the forms, it mentioned.

It stated that the ID forms are available in the District Website
https://deobishnupur.nic.in and https://deobishnupur.in.

It stated that the duly filled in forms for I Inner PC/II-Outer PC can be submitted by the individual or head of the family/senior member by April 9 to Assistant Returning Officer, I-Inner PC (for Internally Displaced Persons) Ground Floor, Block C, SDO Office Mini Secretariat Complex, Bishnupur or Assistant Returning Officer, 2-Outer PC (for Internally Displaced Persons) 1st Floor, Block C, Mini Secretariat Complex, Bishnupur.

The designated Assisting Returning Officers (AROS) for the Parliamentary Constituencies (PCs) of Bishnupur District have been proposed regarding the Scheme for Internally Displaced Persons of Manipur to vote in Relief Camps for General Election to Lok Sabha, 2024, it stated.

In pursuance of letter No. 464/MR-HP/2024-NES-II dated 29th February, 2024 from ECI regarding the said scheme, Rishikanta Loitongbam, MCS, SDO/Bishnupur - I Inner Manipur PC and Bhungba Maibam Khuman, MCS, CEO/ZP - II- Outer Manipur PC have been proposed as designated Assisting Returning Officers (AROS), it added.
