Lok Adalat held in Churachandpur

A total amount of Rs 50,37,752 was settled in the Lok Adalat organised by the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Churachandpur in collaboration with Manipur State Legal Services Authority (MASLSA).

As part of the nationwide National Lok Adalat observation, Churachandpur district also conducted the Lok Adalat on Saturday, organised by the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Churachandpur in collaboration with Manipur State Legal Services Authority (MASLSA). It was held from 10.30 am to 2.30 pm.

There were two benches wherein Bench 1 was presided by Lamkhanpao Tonsing, District Judge, District & Sessions Judge cum Chairman, DLSA and Advocate L Margareth and advocate Lucy Lalsangpui, as members.

Twenty-nine bank defaulters from Bank of Baroda, Central Bank of India, State Bank of India and 13 court referred cases were taken up wherein four cases were disposed of and one land acquisition was disposed of from Bench 1.

Bench 2 was presided over by Sorokhaibam Sadananda, Chief Judicial Magistrate cum Secretary, DLSA and Advocate H Lalthomawi and Advocate Grace Chiinhoihniang as members were 26 Bank defaulters of UCO, SBI and Canara banks was disposed, 19 pending Matrimonial Disputes cases were taken up wherein 10 cases was disposed of.   

A total amount of Rs 50,37,752 was settled in the said Lok Adalat.
