People residing near Bir Tikendrajit International Airport, Imphal were terrified from the sound of gunshots around 6.30 am on Thursday even as a total curfew was imposed in the area due to the prevailing clash.

Later it was clarified that CISF personnels have been firing shots in the air to drive away the numerous birds which flew in the airport landing ground.
