Locals demand road construction, to hold protest in Jiribam

The local clubs, Meira Paibis and the people resolved to hold protest from Wednesday onwards, condemning the authorities' failure to construct the Bidyanagar Harinagar and Uchathol road.

Local clubs and Meira Paibis of Bidyanagar, Lamlen Village, Harinagar and Uchathol on Tuesday announced to hold protests from Wednesday onwards, condemning the authorities for failing to construct the Bidyanagar Harinagar and Uchathol road.

In a meeting held at Harinagar community hall, the local clubs, Meira Paibis and the people resolved to hold protest from Wednesday onwards, condemning the authorities' failure to construct the Bidyanagar Harinagar and Uchathol road which connects the Helipad, district Hospital, Ningsingkhul Uchathol and Ningsingkhun of Jiribam district.

At the event, Harinagar Mangal Club president Chinglemba Khuman recalled that the local clubs and Meira Paibis on June 10 had appealed to the authorities concerned to commence the road construction by June 20.  But the authorities had paid deaf ears to the demands, he added.

Condemning the authorities’ denial of service, the local clubs and Meira Paibis along with the people will take up strong protest movements from Wednesday onwards, he mentioned.
