LNC-M celebrates thanksgiving programme

The Liangmai Naga Council, Manipur celebrated the thanksgiving programme for declaring Chaga Ngee as Restricted State Holiday

The Liangmai Naga Council, Manipur (LNC-M) on Tuesday celebrated the thanksgiving programme for declaring Chaga Ngee as Restricted State Holiday at Green Tree Academy, Kanglatongbi Makhan under Kangpokpi district.

A release issued by LNC-M stated that the Liangmai tribe celebrates Chaga Ngee as one of the biggest festivals on October 30 of every year.

Chaga Ngee is a festival of purification and rededication of life to God, and it is the biggest and the most important festival of the Liangmai Naga community, it added

The release further stated that Forest Minister Awangbou Newmai, retired director Tribal Research Institute Kaikhamang Daimai, president of United Naga Council  Kho John and his colleagues also attended the programme.
