The Liangmai Christian Churches, Manipur under the theme “The Truth Has Set Us Free” celebrated 109 years of Liangmai Christianity in Manipur and commemorated Apou Namrijinang, the Liangmai Christian Pioneer who embraced Christianity in 1914, at Liangmai Baptist Centre Church, Lower Makhan.
The celebration was inclusive of all denominations viz. Baptist, Seventh Day Adventist, Roman Catholic and Sunday Fundamental Churches on December 5 and 6, Information and Publicity Team of the Liangmai Christian Churches Manipur stated in a release.
To mark the beginning of Christianity Celebration the celebration flag was hoisted by elder W.K Mazangbou of Seventh Day Adventist Church Kanglatongbi on December 5. Reverend Chabonjinang Thiumai, Executive Secretary of Liangmai Baptist Churches Association Manipur (LBCA) unveiled the Monolith which reminded thousands of delegates that the Lord Jesus Christ has set them free from the bondage of sin and also encouraged them not to use their spiritual liberty as a license to break the law of God and the law of land, but to serve the Lord and mankind.
The Celebration Souvenir was released by Reverend R Charaibou, former president, Liangmai Baptist Churches Association Manipur (LBCA), the release stated.
The celebration dwells on the pivotal role played by Apou Namrijinang on the advance of Christianity in Zeliangrong Pui community, the release said, adding that with a renewed Hope and embracing the Truth, the celebration flag was de-hoisted by Reverend. Achow Thiumai.
