Two DI trucks laden with various types of green vegetables were donated by the Eastern Liangmai Baptist Association, Manipur, along with the womenfolk of Liangmai community, for the inmates staying at relief camps in Imphal West district on Tuesday.
The green vegetables, including banana stem and inflorescence, bamboo shoots, cabbages, spring onions, pineapples, etc. were donated through the office of the deputy commissioner, Imphal West, stated a release issued by additional deputy commissioner Imphal West N Johnson Meetei.

The items were donated at the relief camps located at Manipur Trade and Expo Centre, Lamboikhonangkhong, THAU Ground Relief Camp, Thangmeiband, and Shyamashakhi Girls High School, Moirangkhom, it stated.
It mentioned that the inmates staying at the mentioned relief camps expressed their deep sense of gratitude for the acts of kindness and help extended to them by the Liangmai community in these times of hardship experienced by the state.
Such benevolent gestures enhance a deep sense of fraternity among the different communities and instill hopes that peace would prevail in the state, it added.
