Legal awareness programme held in Moreh

Around 100 women from different communities, Kuki Women Union for Human Rights, Nupi Khunai Chaokhat Lamjing Lup, Muslim Women Development Association, Tamil Sangam Women Wing and Kha Nongpok Apunba Nupi Lup took part in the legal awareness programme.

The Manipur State Commission for Women (MSCW) organised a one-day legal awareness programme at the conference Hall of Hill Tribal Council Moreh on Tuesday.

Chairperson-in-charge MSCW Thumlip Tiningpham Monsang, member MSCW T Chuongsin Koireng and convenor in-charge Moreh town committee and founder cum advisor of KWUHR Moreh Cecilia Chinneivah Haokip attended the event.

Around 100 women from different communities , Kuki Women Union for Human Rights, Nupi Khunai Chaokhat Lamjing Lup, Muslim Women Development Association, Tamil Sangam Women Wing and Kha Nongpok Apunba Nupi Lup took part in the legal awareness programme.

Advocate Khaidem Santa Singh and Advocate Jacky Lucy and additional SP Tengnoupal Yumnam Premjit spoke on the various issues related to women rights and human trafficking.

Advocate Khaidem Santa Singh spokes on Women'a right related to ‘Obscenity and Indecent Representation of Women, Dowry death, Outraging the modesty of a woman, Kidnapping Abduction, Rape and Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence’ while advocate Jacky Lucy spoke about ‘Christian Law on Marriage and Divorce, Christian Iaw on Right to Property and Guardianship under Christian Law’. Yumnam Premjit spoke on the issues related to ‘Human Trafficking’.
